Zia Khan is an assistant professor of computer science with joint appointments in UMIACS and the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (CBCB).
Khan’s research focuses on computational biology and bioinformatics. He works to develop computational methods and algorithms for biological data analysis. Khan also collaborates with wet lab biologists and works with method development.
Khan received his doctorate in computer science from Princeton University in 2011. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, Khan was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Chicago’s Department of Human Genetics.
